class=\"has-s-font-size\">ETAP-LAB goes beyond regulations with its commitment to three key areas of refinement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Good ethological practices and chronobiology<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>ETAP<\/strong> stands for \u201cEThologie APpliqu\u00e9e\u201d or \u201cApplied Ethology\u201d in English. Ethology, or the science of animal behavior, is particularly focused on animal welfare and respect for their chronobiology and environment, thereby encouraging them to engage in complex and significant behaviors for the species.  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Over the last 35 years, <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-blue-color\"><strong>ETAP-LAB<\/strong><\/mark><\/strong> has developed and expanded its \u201cgood ethological practices\u201d to include all of its <em>in vivo<\/em> models, including dermatology and cardiovascular models, to improve animal welfare while increasing the translational value of its research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Training and involvement in advancing ethical reflection<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-blue-color\"><strong>ETAP-LAB<\/strong><\/mark> has tasked several employees with actively participating in discussions with the local ethics committees to which it reports, to improve practices and ethical evaluation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>As an active member of <strong>UAFIS<\/strong>, a local association that organizes training and discussion days for professionals working with animals for research purposes, <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-blue-color\"><strong>ETAP-LAB<\/strong><\/mark> also shares best practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Investment in the development of NAMs and refinement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-blue-color\"><strong>ETAP-LAB<\/strong><\/mark> invests in the development of microphysiological systems (MPS) through the BIODIAMOND project. This ambitious project aims to develop brain-on-a-chip models for studying neurodegenerative diseases that could replace the use of animals, while improving drug candidate evaluation. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>At the same time, <mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-blue-color\"><strong>ETAP-LAB<\/strong><\/mark> is investing in non-invasive imaging methods (MRI, PET, etc.) to reduce the use of animals while increasing the translational value of models.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div
