{"id":1448,"date":"2021-02-23T11:43:53","date_gmt":"2021-02-23T10:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.syncrosome.com\/?p=1448"},"modified":"2026-04-17T17:50:24","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T15:50:24","slug":"new-whole-body-plethysmography-system-buxco-dsitm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.etap-lab.com\/en\/science-and-innovation\/new-whole-body-plethysmography-system-buxco-dsitm\/","title":{"rendered":"New whole-body plethysmography system (Buxco, DSITM)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>SYNCROSOME has acquired a new whole-body\nplethysmography system (Buxco, DSI<sup>TM<\/sup>). &nbsp;Whole-body plethysmography is\nused to measure respiratory parameters in conscious unrestrained animals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This system allows\nto obtain reliable results particularly for our model of citric acid-induced\ncough in guinea pigs thanks to an automatic assessment of cough.&nbsp;The FinePointe\nSoftware utilizes a specific algorithm to count cough and easily distinguished them\nfrom sneezes, augmented breaths and movements. The chamber is furthermore patented\nwith a system of reduction of the ambient noise (Halycon). Outside air\nmovements (door opening, engineer coughing&#8230;) will not impact the tracings.\nThe system has an automatic chamber calibration for better accuracy. Finally,\nnebulization rate of citric acid is well controlled as well as the condensation\nin the chambers.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to this advanced technology, the efficacy of a\ncandidate compound can be assessed with more predictability and quality\nacquired data. Moreover, our cough model is pharmacologically validated.
