Neurodegenerative diseases & microfluidic platform – Poster session at the MPS World Summit in Brussels

Meet our expert during the poster session

As preclinical CRO expert in neuroscience research, we are delighted to participate in the 4th MPS Microphysiology Systems World Summit to present our research poster on our microfluidic platform dedicated to Neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs).
When: from June, 9 to 13.
Where: Brussels, Belgium.

Poster session: Poster Session 4: Thursday June 12 Afternoon – Board 277. Track 2: MPS for Biomedical Research and Disease Modelling. Theme 2.5: Understanding the brain with MPS
Dr Valentin TALLANDIER, in vitro Preclinical Project Leader at ETAP-Lab, presents the poster « High-throughput microfluidic systems to accelerate preclinical drug discovery for neurodegenerative diseases« .

To address the limits of in vitro NDDs models, our researchers developed a microfluidic Brain-on-Chip (BoC) platform that mimics the in vivo brain architecture thanks to compartmentalization & neuronal networks. Automated high-content imaging and machine learning-based analysis were integrated to efficiently capture and quantify cellular features such as Synapse Density, Axonal Growth & Nuclear Morphology.
At ETAP-Lab we support biotech & pharmaceutical companies to accelerate the development of transformative neurodegenerative therapies, aiming at a better future for all those affected by neurodegenerative diseases.
Let’s meet at MPS to explore how our automated, high-throughput Brain-on-Chip system offers a powerful and accurate tool for studying NDD mechanisms and enhances the translational potential of drug discovery platforms.

Focus on our « Brain-on-Chip » platform developped in the BIO-DIAMOND project

The BIO-DIAMOND project stands as a pioneering pilot initiative showcasing the potential of organ-on-chip technology to expedite the market entry of drug candidates in the discovery and preclinical phases, specifically focusing on Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). This project, in collaboration with NETRI, has emerged as a winner of the “Innovations in biotherapies and bioproduction” call for projects funded by the French government as part of France 2030.
