“For each research project, a designated Research Assistant prepares the materials and worksheets, in direct consultation with the Project Managers. In addition to laboratory work, Research Assistants also perform image and video analyses, offering an exciting variety of tasks in different working environments.”
Elodie, Research Assistant

“Our premises are based on a university campus, giving us access to state-of-the-art imaging equipment like MRI and FUS (ultrasound imaging) scanners. We use these tools to characterize our experimental models and monitor their development in real time.”
Nicolas, Research assistant

“Animal welfare is our key focus every day. You have to create optimal housing conditions and carefully monitor environmental parameters. The animals are kept under daily observation and handled under red light to avoid disturbing their natural activity cycles. This is vital to ensuring the quality of the research while also taking care of the animals.”
Emilie, Animal Technician

“We hold lab meetings every week to review the schedules and assess study progress. The Project Managers present the study protocols and results to the Research Assistants. We also have regular meetings with staff from the other sites.”
Valentin, Research Assistant

Life after ETAP-LAB
Former employees reflect on their experience at the company and its lasting impact on their careers.

“I completed an apprenticeship at ETAP-Lab, where I was mentored, listened to, and supported from the very start. They quickly put their trust in me, allowing me to take on more responsibility. I was able to apply the techniques I had studied, learn new things, and develop my skills in a very rewarding role, with a wide variety of different procedures. At the end of my apprenticeship, I was offered the chance to continue on this journey, which I gladly accepted.
In Vivo Research Assistant is a challenging role where you learn a lot, and the young and energetic atmosphere among the team makes the daily work even more enjoyable.
I was given the chance to thrive in a rewarding and varied role. Leaving ETAP-LAB was not an easy decision: I left for personal reasons, but I have very fond memories of what was a great professional experience.”

“My name is Océane, and I have a Master’s degree in Physiological Engineering, Biotechnology, and Computer Science. My time at ETAP-LAB was an important stage in my career, both on a professional and personal level. I gained a lot of confidence when I was there, especially because of the freedom I was given to develop my projects and work together with all the teams, which really taught me how to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of people, while remaining focused on the essentials. When I resigned, I wasn’t able to start my next position straight away, so I spoke to ETAP-LAP’s management who allowed me to keep working there until my PhD project was finalised eight months later, for which I was really grateful. This flexibility and support were essential for me. My dream of completing a PhD in Medical Biochemistry finally came true, and I flew to Australia.
My experience at ETAP-LAB helped broaden my horizons in various fields, which are very useful in my current role. For example, having learned so much about animal ethics really helps me in any discussions on this subject, as I now have more informed opinions and ask more relevant questions. ”
